In this module you will learn about different aspects of grief and baby loss that will assist you in your work with bereaved parents, families and whānau. These aspects include grief theories and models; the difference between traditional and contemporary grief theories; the 'rules' around grief that are maintained by society; approaches to death and grief by Māori and Pasifika communities; cultural differences in approaches to death and grieving; different styles of grieving; men’s experience of grief in relation to baby loss; the importance of self-care; and, a mindfulness practice.
