Reducing Preventable Stillbirths

For decades we have been too scared to mention the possibility of stillbirth (or any death of a baby) to expectant parents. But it is in talking about it, we open up awareness and create a space for the evidence-based practices that we know can help prevent stillbirth and can empower expectant parents to ask questions and advocate for their baby/babies.
There is work and research being undertaken worldwide, looking to see a reduction in stillbirths because sadly we know that there are some stillbirths that could be prevented.

The Safer Pregnancy site has been developed by Sands UK. Stillbirth is the death of an unborn baby at or after 24 weeks of pregnancy. It happens in around 1 in 230 pregnancies in the UK.
While stillbirth is a difficult subject for pregnant women and their partners to think about, Sands knows that many parents do not realise it remains a possibility until their baby dies https://saferpregnancy.org.uk/ |
