BABY LOSS IN AOTEAROA NZ We'll cover the latest statistics for baby loss and discuss inequities within those statistics; legalities that apply to aspects of baby loss will be presented as well as guidelines; we'll also look at financial entitlements such as Paid Parental Leave and Bereavement Leave. GRIEF AND BABY LOSS In this session we'll talk about grief in general - looking at our societal beliefs about grief and also your own beliefs. We'll look at the concept of closure, at empathy and sympathy, and at assumptions around gender and grief. SELF-CARE FOR PROFESSIONALS WORKING WITH BABY LOSS Too often, this topic is added on to the end of a course or workshop, so I've put it up the front this time! We'll talk about why self-care is so important for health and caring professionals who are supporting and caring for bereaved whānau, taking both local and international research into account. We'll also look at what self-care is and isn't - delving a bit deeper than bubble baths and a glass of wine! We'll talk about your Philosophy of Care and how that impacts your self-care.
